Rebecca Vilkomerson is the former Executive Director of Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), a national grassroots organization working for the freedom and equality of all people in Israel/Palestine. Under her tenure (2009-2019), Rebecca grew JVP into a leading national and international Jewish progressive force, expanding membership from hundreds to some 20,000 and from six chapters to over 70 across the United States. JVP became the first major Jewish organization to endorse the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement and embrace anti-Zionism. Rebecca continues to work in the U.S. Palestine solidarity movement.

From 2006-2009, Rebecca lived with her family in Israel, giving her a first-hand look at the situation there. In 2017, the Jerusalem Post named her one of the 50 most influential Jewish leaders worldwide.

In 2022, Rebecca authored the report, Funding Freedom: Philanthropy and the Palestinian Freedom Movement, published by the Solidaire Network. Her forthcoming book, Solidarity is the Political Form of Love: Lessons from Jewish Anti-Zionist Organizing (co-authored with Rabbi Alissa Wise), will be published by Haymarket Books in 2024. Rebecca is a sought-after media spokesperson, having appeared in the Washington Post, LA Times, CNN, Ha'aretz, Democracy Now!, and NY1.

Currently, Rebecca is Vice President of her synagogue, Kolot Chayeinu, in Brooklyn NY, and serves on the national leadership team of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ). She also works as an organizational development consultant, focusing on building healthy organizations and winning strategies for grassroots organizations and those who support them.
